Creating Lighting Fixtures

Lighting fixtures can be located anywhere in a building. They hang from ceilings and structures; they are mounted in floors, walls, and stairs; and they even stand on their own. With Revit MEP 2012, you can make any shape or form into a lighting fixture family so that, if your project requires it, you can create a unique fixture. However, the majority of lighting fixtures used in building design consist of a few basic shapes. Unless your project requires it for visualization, there is no need to go into great detail when creating the geometry of your lighting fixture families. Keeping their design simple will enable you to focus more on the computable data within your fixture families.
