Point Clouds
The use of point clouds in Revit is a quickly emerging technology and an excellent way to document existing building conditions accurately and quickly. The building can be easily scanned using LiDAR, or laser scanning, to locate geographic information and extrapolate that into a means that is usable in an Autodesk® Revit® model. This type of scan is used to cut down the time of a traditional survey while collecting more data about the site or building.
