Chapter 15Designing with the Family Editor
In previous chapters, we discussed the modeling techniques for system families such as walls, roofs, floors, and ceilings. In essence, they can be thought of as elements that are quantified in terms of their spatial properties, such as linear units, surface area, or volume. For example, a roof might be quantified in terms of its overall area, and the area of its components (concrete, decking, roof membrane, etc.).
