DSM Spreadsheet Process Model

Each element of a DSM spreadsheet is assigned to a row and its corresponding column in a DSM spreadsheet. A DSM spreadsheet cell is the intersection of a row and a column.

Rows and columns are ordered identically. Marks in a DSM spreadsheet cell show where one element depends on another. A mark in a row shows that a directed relationship to the row element from a column element exists.

As marked, a DSM spreadsheet defines an equivalent directed graph whose arcs between nodes correspond to marks in the DSM spreadsheet. The two elements at the intersection are related to each other.
