I would like to add one more item to the list, though: test. Test, test, test, and test again. Before you go live, have the store administrator, any backend users, and your colleagues go through all possible scenarios. Store owners are always eager to launch, but you cannot overdo thorough testing. It's always better to catch problems before launch than after.
