Virtual networks are the foundation for all the true enterprise networking configurations you need to use in Azure, especially, but not limited to, IaaS. This chapter explains what virtual networks are, how they should be architected, how to deploy them, and what capabilities are exposed when they are used. This chapter resolves many of the limitations that were exposed for networking in a cloud service without a virtual network and prepares you for connecting Azure to your on-premises locations.
