Creating a form part

Form parts are another way to show pertinent information, reducing the need to navigate away from the user's current tasks. One example is that they can allow us to show a form designed to pop up automatically as the user hovers the mouse over a foreign key field.

In this example, we will create a form part for vehicle information that will show up as the user hovers over the vehicle ID field. It will show key vehicle information and a list of services the vehicle has had.

A form part is actually a normal form, but written in a certain way and using a FormPart style. The form is associated with a table so that it can be shown when the user hovers over a link to that table.
