Virtualization of computers has been around for a long time. Users have been virtualizing servers on mainframe computers for more than 15 years. It has only been in the past 5 years or so that nonmainframe computers have gained the capability to perform virtualization. Only in the past couple of years have they gotten good at virtualization.
