12.3. Deploying a Single Application

Something new that was introduced in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and carried forward into Windows Server 2008 R2 was RemoteApp. This allows a single application executing on an RD Session Host server to be seamlessly displayed on the remotely connected user's device. This is a fantastic feature as it presents IT administrators with the ability to host and deploy a single critical application without the need to deliver a complete desktop environment. It's a very powerful feature, because it allows you to deliver an application via RDS that looks and acts just like any other locally installed application.
