10.8. Remote Desktop Administration
Remote Desktop Services serves two functions in the Microsoft Windows environment. It can act as a Remote Desktop Server providing many users with a centralized execution environment, or it can act as a very effective remote management mechanism. Microsoft allows up to two connections to a Windows Server for remote management and administration of that server. To use RDS for remote administration, you do not need to install the RDS role. You simply enable the Remote Desktop as shown in the following sidebar. Using the Remote Desktop Connection for administration does not require the purchase of an RDS CAL.
