14.1 Introduction

As the project manager continues to develop the quality management plan, another important aspect of managing quality is the design, selection, and implementation of tools and techniques that will be used to assess work activity performance and quality assurance (QA) to verify that standards of quality are being maintained. This is called quality control (QC). QC can be thought of as the overall observation of processes and procedures conducted not only on project work activities, but also on any activities internal or external to the organization that would influence the project deliverable.
