Jenkins

Jenkins (https://jenkins.io/) is an open source build server which supports building, deploying, and automating any project. Jenkins has been developed in Java, and it can be managed easily using its web interface. The global configuration of a Jenkins instance includes information about JDK, Git, Maven, Gradle, Ant, and Docker.

Jenkins was originally developed as the Hudson project by Sun Microsystems in 2004. After the acquisition of Sun by Oracle, the Hudson project was forked to an open source project, renamed to Jenkins. Both names (Hudson and Jenkins) were meant to sound like stereotypical English butler names. The idea is they help developers carry out tedious tasks, just like a helpful butler.
