Capturing HTTP traffic

Categorization is one of the ways of dealing with problems in communication with external microservices during automated tests. Another popular approach to that issue involves recording outgoing requests and incoming responses in order to use them in the future without establishing a connection to the external services.

In the previous examples, we have only used Hoverfly in simulation mode. However, it can also be run in capture mode, which means that requests will be made to the real service as normal, but they will be intercepted, recorded, and stored in the file by Hoverfly. The file that stores the captured traffic in JSON format may then be used in simulation mode. You can create a Hoverfly Rule in your JUnit ...
