A revolution is going on in the business software industry. Applications are out and services are in. The shift this can cause in application architectures is substantial. SQL Server is an important cog in the enterprise system machine; as such, it certainly must be affected by this architectural transformation. But SQL Server 2008 is well-equipped for this transition. The service-based features of SQL Server can simplify the implementation of a service-oriented architecture substantially.
