Summary

In this chapter, we explored how to extend Tableau's mapping capabilities without leaving the interface by capturing Tableau-generated latitude and longitude data, and then feeding that data back into the interface through data blending. Next, we explored various ways to extend Tableau's mapping using other technology. We connected to a WMS server, explored the structure of a TMS file, created our own TMS files, and then explored the Mapbox offering. Finally, we covered the topic of shape files.
