6.1 Introduction
The “Manifesto for Agile Software Development” (“Agile Manifesto” or simply “Manifesto” for short) is the base document from where the Agile movement was born in 2001. You can read the Agile Manifesto on the internet at agilemanifesto.org or in the Agile Practice Guide by PMI. The Agile Manifesto was signed by a group of software engineers, coming from several different experiences. The document starts with the definition of its purpose and value:
