Chapter 3. Installing Windows 7: Meet the Panther

When installing Windows 7, you'll first have to identify the edition that will meet your needs. You can choose from three primary editions for your organization. After you pick the edition you want, you can decide on one of several methods to install Windows 7. The method you use primarily depends on whether you're upgrading or refreshing an existing computer or replacing the computer. These methods also affect how you can restore users' data using the User State Migration Tool (USMT), which is explained in greater depth in Chapter 5, "Migrating the Existing User Data."
