FRS Requirements and Dependencies

SYSVOL replication is handled by FRS. FRS replicates SYSVOL using the topology generated by the Knowledge Consistency Checker (KCC) and also has its own Active Directory objects that are replicated using Active Directory replication. The KCC is responsible for building the Active Directory replication topology. It uses a highly sophisticated algorithm to calculate the most efficient way to build the connection objects between the domain controllers.
