Monitor server performance
You can use the Performance Monitor's System Monitor to view real-time server performance or create a counter log to measure performance over time. You can create custom alerts that read the logs and warn you if something passes a counter limit.

You have an existing server which has been tasked as your new SharePoint server. The installation is done, and it's about to go live. Because it's an existing server, you're worried the addition of SharePoint will require more RAM then the server has installed. Build a performance alert that will register an event in the Application Event log if the available RAM ever gets below 50MB.
