13.6. Managing Features and Solutions with STSADM

One of the new features in WSS 3.0 is the ability to deploy Features and Solutions. In the past, developers could create site definitions that consisted of a directory on the web servers that held some XML files and all the other files related to the site definition. These had to be manually installed into all of the web servers (if there were multiple servers) and were limited in scope as to what they could be used to define. In WSS 3.0, this has been addressed through what is now called Solutions and Features.
