8.1 Introduction
Signal flow graph theory is concerned with the development of a graph theoretic approach to solving a system of linear algebraic equations. Two closely related methods proposed by Coates [1] and Mason [2, 3] have appeared in the literature and have served as elegant aids in gaining insight into the structure and nature of solutions of systems of equations.
