1.2. Starting and Ending a MATLAB Session

Once the MATLAB is properly installed on the PC, it can be started in two ways, i.e., through the options in Start menu or using shortcut on the desktop of the PC. To start a MATLAB session through the Start menu, the following steps are taken:

1.
Click on the ‘Start’ button of the PC desktop.
2.
Select the option ‘Programs’. This displays some more options.
3.
Select the option ‘MATLAB’ from the displayed options. There is a list of options displayed.
4.
Click on the option ‘R2007b’ from these options.

The MATLAB default desktop is displayed as shown in Figure 1.2.
