Texturing and Lighting a Character, Part 2

In Chapter 3, “Texturing and Lighting a Character, Part 1,” you textured and lit the bust of a woman. In this chapter, you'll continue to fine-tune the texturing and lighting to add detail and realism. This part of the project will guide you through the following steps:

  • Adjusting the skin-shading network
  • Activating image-based lighting
  • Deactivating shadows
  • Addressing texture warp
  • Fine-tuning

In addition, important lighting and texturing theory is included as follows:

  • Creation of custom connections in the Hypershade
  • Color space and monitor calibration
  • Maya color profiles
