One disadvantage of NURBS surfaces is the potential for texture warping. This warping can lead to unwanted texture softness, stretching of texture detail, or uneven scale in repeating texture patterns. In these cases, the model is constructed or adjusted in such a way that the UV texture space is not distributed evenly over the surface.
