He of Leading the Revolution fame and – unfortunately for him – as the one who used Enron as his ‘model’ case study. Still, everyone makes mistakes and you can still learn a lot from Hamel’s ideas.
Gary Hamel is a visiting professor of Strategic Management at London Business School. His key theory is the concept of core competencies, and he has written some significant books and articles about this as well as other matters. Importantly though, he is not just a writer and spends a large part of his time on the lecture circuit and advising large organizations, the latter via his management consulting firm, Strategos.
