Installing and Configuring DHCP

  1. Install a DHCP server on a Windows 2000 Server computer.

  2. Authorize the DHCP server in Active Directory.

  3. Configure a DHCP scope with a pool of addresses.

  4. Configure several clients to obtain addresses from the DHCP server and verify that they are able to connect to the network.

  5. Configure a DHCP relay agent and use it to access a DHCP server.

  6. Configure a DHCP reservation for a computer. Boot the computer and verify that it was assigned the correct IP address.

  7. Use DHCP options to provide a WINS server address to clients.
