Objectives

This chapter covers the following Microsoft-specified objective and its four subobjectives for the Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure exam:

  • Analyze the impact of Active Directory on the existing and planned technical environment.

    • Assess existing systems and applications.

    • Identify existing and planned upgrades and rollouts.

  • One of the early planning stages for Active Directory design should be to determine the compatibility of the existing systems and applications. Additionally, take into consideration the existing and planned systems upgrades and/or rollouts, as you may well be able to integrate some or all upgrade plans with Active Directory.
