Concepts of NAP
Perhaps you have mobile computers that have been on the road bringing malware back to your network and creating havoc. Or these mobile computers, when making a virtual private network (VPN) connection might have been accessed by other computers externally that infect them with viruses, worms, spyware, and so on. NAP is designed to mitigate the problems these computers can create; it helps administrators ensure that the overall integrity and security of the network is maintained. NAP enables you to redirect noncompliant computers to a remediation segment on the network, where they can be brought into compliance with the security standards you have set.
