Although the average home user may not consider their emails to be "official records," anyone who works in a business environment realizes that emails and other electronic forms of communication are company documents in the same way as a hard-copy memo, sales report, inventory sheet, or company network policy form. Not only are electronic communications official corporate documents, but the contents are company property.
