Now that you've learned about the planning aspects of document management within SharePoint 2007 and some of the abilities you have at your disposal, it's time to get some practice working in this realm. Since the previous section finished off with IRM and how that works, let's start the practical exercises in the same area.

Setting up IRM in SharePoint is a multistep process, so several of the exercises will be focused on these tasks. As you previously learned, IRM is not enabled by default in SharePoint and in fact is not available at all unless you have a server in the system that is acting as the RMS server.
