Configuring Website Authentication and Permissions
A number of authentication types are available for IIS 7.5 to meet the needs of your application. A number of native authentication modules are available that enable specific authentication types.
Active Directory Client Certificate Authentication
This allows authentication using certificates stored in Active Directory.
Anonymous Authentication
This allows any user who can access the site to view content without having to authenticate. The IUSR[_ServerName] account is used by IIS to access the content on the server.
