And we have a lot of different application types. Here’s the rundown of the application types we’re going to install using MDM (specifically, Intune) in this chapter. Note that this rundown is different than the order in which we will be doing our examples:

MSIs You know them and love them. MSI files. Most of the applications you have today are likely packaged as MSIs, and you might even have expertise in creating or repackaging applications to MSI.

Win32 Apps (EXEs) Some apps just don’t ship as MSI files. They are just totally fine as EXEs. Acrobat Reader and Firefox ship as straight EXEs. These are called Win32 applications and we’ll see how to deploy those ...
