Deviated wellbores

Abstract

Fracture initiation and propagation from a deviated wellbore is analyzed in this chapter. It is demonstrated that mini-fractures are initiated at the tension zone of the wellbore, and the fracture propagates in a direction perpendicular to the minimum in situ stress.
