Mixing machine technologies from different eras can be a great source of inspiration for unique robot designs. Combining eighteenth-century technology with twentieth-century mechanics, for example, creates fantastic design opportunities. In reality, a steam-powered robot doesn’t make much sense. But visually it’s very striking.
