Rotating and Extruding Text

Up to this point, you haven’t really done anything that you couldn’t do in the Avid Title tool. That changes now. One of Marquee’s stand-out capabilities is 3D rotation and extrusion. Let’s start by creating a 3D metallic look for the number 0. There are a few pieces to creating this look: You need to add a texture, some lights, a bevel, and extrusion.

To add an extruded 3D metallic look to text:

1. Select the number 0 in the Marquee window.

2. Instead of using a simple color or gradient, you’ll apply a texture to the number. Marquee includes a number of useful textures, but you can also create your own. In the Styles Library, click the TEXTURES tab. If the Library window isn’t open, select WINDOW > LIBRARY > TEXTURES ...
