One of the useful patterns for analysis of system hangs is Thread Waiting Time (Volume 1, page 343). If there are many such threads of interest they can be partitioned by waiting time and modules of interest (page 510) from their stack traces (Volume 1, page 395). Modules of interest may include Directing (Volume 6, page 80), Coupled (Volume 6, page 114), Blocking (Volume 6, page 54), Top (Volume 6, page 62), and/or Problem (page 85) modules depending on the problem description.
