Abstract:
The chapter provides a brief overview of the chemical-based technologies used and/or currently under development to provide safe drinking water or to mitigate the discharge of contaminants into waterbodies along with treated wastewater. Some important considerations and design guidelines for chemical unit operations used in water and wastewater treatment are presented.
