3.5. EXPLOITING THE OLD BRAIN WITH NEW MEDIA

In spite of the challenges summarized above, not all new media features are counterproductive. The key is to align media facilities with our old brains, characterized by a limited working memory and with the instructional goals. In my book e-Learning and the Science of Instruction with Richard Mayer (Clark & Mayer, 2008), I summarize a number of proven positive media effects.
