Practice of Micro Ultrathin Strip Rolling
Abstract
This chapter presents the development of a micro ultrathin strip rolling apparatus for manufacturing ultrathin foils with high accuracy. In this chapter, a 2-high micro rolling mill has been built successfully, and experimental investigations on the micro rolling process for ultrathin strip have been conducted. The rolling reduction limit is analyzed considering roll material, rolling pass, and rolling speed ratio between two rolls. The rolled material profile evolution has also been discussed theoretically and experimentally.
