The global availability of the Internet and the corresponding rise of interconnected devices have brought us to a new frontier where working together as a team no longer means being in the same building from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. working off of a single device tethered to a desk. Teamwork no longer means working closely on a project with people in the same building and time zone. For most of us, teamwork means collaborating with colleagues and partners we’ve never met in person. It also means sharing information securely and being mindful of falling victim to cyberattacks. But most important, teamwork means we foster a culture of belonging and acceptance with a diverse workforce with different preferences and varying areas of expertise in many situations.
