If it weren’t for SharePoint, I wouldn’t be writing this book. It’s true. I’ve often wondered where my professional career would have taken me had I not discovered the benefits of using SharePoint to herd a bunch of volunteers across multiple counties and cities for a statewide project. As someone whose job was to get everyone on the same page and singing from the same song sheet — even before the Internet became ubiquitous many years later — I had to get very creative with getting volunteers to collaborate and access data. With no IT background or a computer science degree, I stretched what my brain could handle — a brain that was filled with theoretical knowledge of business administration from my degree in economics.
