  1. No—password hash synchronization is enabled by default if you use the Express settings during the Azure AD Connect installation.
  2. No—password sync needs to be enabled on the on-premises domain controller and in the Azure portal.
  3. No—you can install Azure AD Connect when the on-premises forest name doesn't match one of the Azure AD custom domain names, but you will receive a warning during installation that SSO is not enabled for your users.
