Upgrading from Previous Versions
The only supported upgrade to Microsoft CRM 2011 is an upgrade from Microsoft 4.0. If you’re running a version of Microsoft CRM prior to 4.0 (that is, 1.0, 1.2, or 3.0), you must first upgrade to 4.0 and then to 2011. Additionally, there is no support for Microsoft Dynamics 4.0 Mobile Express, and it should be uninstalled prior to attempting an upgrade. (Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 comes with Mobile Express by default.)

Upgrading Microsoft CRM 1.0, 1.2, or 3.0 to Microsoft 4.0 is not discussed because that topic is beyond the scope of this book.
