The Deployment Manager is a snap-in for the MMC (Microsoft Management Console) that is automatically installed during installation of the Dynamics CRM server. Administrators use the Deployment Manager to manage the organizations, licenses, servers, and authentication methods related to your Dynamics CRM implementation.

In essence, the Deployment Manager is the user interface for the MSCRM_CONFIG database that is created during installation to store information about the configuration of the Dynamics CRM server and its tenant organizations.

Note

The Deployment Manager is only used by organizations with on-premises installations of Dynamics CRM or by partners who are hosting Dynamics CRM. This feature is not available to users of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.

Using the Deployment Manager Console

The Deployment Manager can be found on the server where Dynamics CRM is installed or on the server you specified for the Deployment Services role during installation.

To open the Deployment Manager, follow these steps:

  1. From the Start menu on the Dynamics CRM server, choose Programs
