At this point, we still need the NAV object designer to start the RDLC report designer. To begin creating the report layout, open the report object in the NAV report designer and run the View | Layout menu action.
To edit the RDLC report layout, Report Designer for Visual Studio or Report Builder for SQL Server is required.
The default report layout editor configured for NAV is Visual Studio. If you prefer to use SQL Server Report Builder, the default configuration must be changed. To switch your editor to Report Builder, open the code editor options (Tools | Options in the top application menu) and change the Use Report Builder to Yes key.
