Exchange Management Console
Exchange has always included a management console. The first generation of Exchange included the ADMIN program; the second had the Exchange System Manager (ESM); and Exchange 2007 introduced the EMC. Both ESM and EMC are snap-ins for the Microsoft Management Console (MMC). EMC leverages Microsoft .NET Windows Forms extensively for other elements of its graphical user interface (GUI) such as the many wizards used to create and configure objects.
