Choosing an antivirus product
Exchange’s anti-spam agents do a reasonable job of applying basic anti-spam techniques to remove unwanted email from the inbound mail stream. Its antivirus capabilities are rudimentary and cannot be guaranteed to deliver the same level of protection as a dedicated antivirus solution can. You should therefore supplement this layer of defense by deploying a good antivirus product that is built to support Exchange on the edge of hub transport servers that process inbound email from the Internet.
