Message tracking

The ability to track messages by reference to logs that contain details of the path that messages take through different components of Exchange has been in the product since its first release and has been used for many purposes, including the determination of overall end-to-end performance of the messaging infrastructure and forensic tracking of messages to establish that someone definitely sent or received a message. The details of message tracking have varied from version to version, but the functionality and operation presented in Exchange 2010 is similar to that available in Exchange 2007.
