Performance Monitor

Although you can launch the Performance Monitor from Windows, the version included in the Exchange toolbox is provided as a preconfigured console that includes the most important counters necessary to monitor the performance of an Exchange server. You can retrieve a listing of all of the Performance Monitor counters for Exchange with the following command:

$FormatEnumerationLimit = -1
Get-Counter -ListSet 'MSExchange*' | Format-List CounterSetName,
Paths > C:\Temp\MSExchangePerf.txt

Setting $FormatEnumerationLimit to –1 tells Windows PowerShell that you do not want to truncate the output values. This is important because many of the counter sets provided by Exchange, especially those for the Information Store, include a large ...
