Because this chapter has dealt primarily with how Expression Web works as an application and how you can control some of its default behavior, it seems fitting to end the chapter with the apex of application control: add-ins.

An add-in is a small program that extends the functionality of an application. Expression Web 4 contains a whole new add-in platform. In the past, add-ins were generally made by programmers in Microsoft Visual C++ and were fairly complicated.
